FPSS1500A Pallet Shuttle
All-electric four-directional handling of 1,500 kg pallets inside deep-lane racking, from ambient distribution down to −10 °C. The shuttle works within the rack, so the floor is not given over to forklift aisles.
FPSS1500 Series · A
A tonne and a half, inside the rack.
Conventional pallet racking spends most of its floor on aisles wide enough for a forklift. This shuttle works inside the structure instead, on sixteen driven wheels, positioning to ±3 mm. The aisles come back as storage.
The aisles become storage
A forklift needs a lane wide enough to turn in. This shuttle works inside the rack on sixteen driven wheels, so the space conventional pallet racking spends on access comes back as pallet positions.
1,500 kg, positioned to ±3 mm
Full pallets at the weight the racking was designed for, placed accurately enough that deep lanes stay reliable at 22 m rather than becoming a recovery problem.
Ambient and chilled on one platform
Rated from −10 °C to 50 °C, so fresh and chilled zones run the same machine, spares and training as the ambient estate. Frozen storage below that takes the FPSS1500B.
| Movement | Four-directional |
|---|---|
| Payload | 1,500 kg |
| Temperature | −10 to 50 °C |
| Continuous Runtime | 72 h per charge (self-charges) |
| Max speed | 2 m/s |
| 1200mm × 1000mm |
Typical deployments
Density where the pallets are heavy.
The case is strongest wherever a limited SKU count moves in full pallets and the building is already paid for.
Distribution
Full-pallet reserve behind a pick face, where depth costs nothing because the same SKU fills the lane anyway.
Chilled to −10 °C
Fresh and dairy operations that need refrigeration but not freezing, on the same platform as the ambient estate.
Beverage and bulk
Heavy, uniform pallets at high volume per line, which is the load profile deep-lane storage was designed around.
Existing buildings
Converting space a crane system cannot use, in structures with limited clear height or irregular column spacing.
The complete system
The complete pallet system
A four-way shuttle handles every horizontal move in the rack. Servo hoists carry shuttles and pallets between levels. Because throughput is set by how many shuttles, hoists and conveyors you run rather than by the structure, density and speed can be specified independently of each other.

01 · Four-way shuttle
Travels on rail in all four directions to every location. 16 driven wheels, positioning to ±3 mm by photoelectric and RFID.

02 · Layer-changing hoist
Servo gear-and-rack, 2,000 kg capacity at 48 m/min, with an anti-fall lock that holds the load through a power loss.

03 · High-density racking
Multi-deep, multi-level cold-rolled rack to 22 m, fast to install and reconfigurable as the operation changes.

04 · Conveyors and charging
Chain in/out lines at 1,500 kg, and charging stations where shuttles top up while idle for 72 h of running.

Safety and certification
What protects people and stock.

Four-side obstacle detection
Sensors on every face stop the shuttle before contact, in any of its four directions of travel.

End-stop anti-fall blockers
Mechanical blockers at the limits of every lane keep the shuttle on rail.

Multi-point emergency stop
Dual-circuit STO, with stops at multiple points around the system rather than one.

Motor and electrical protection
Overload and overheat protection on the motors, with an electrical safety interlock.

Fault logging and diagnostics
Every fault is logged and self-diagnosed, so a recurring problem is visible before it becomes a stoppage.

Certification
CE to Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC across both shuttle and hoist, verified by SGS. Manufacturing certified to ISO 14001:2015.
Frequently Asked Questions
The FPSS1500A, specifically.
How does the shuttle move between lanes and levels?
It drives itself between lanes on the four-directional wheels, and a layer-changing hoist carries it between levels. The shuttle is never lifted by a crane or handled manually in normal operation, which is what makes the system reconfigurable without structural work.
What happens if power fails while a pallet is raised?
The hoist holds its load on a gear-and-rack anti-fall lock rather than on drive power, so a pallet in transit stays where it is. On the shuttle itself the lift stroke is 35 mm, so a load is never far from its supports.
When is the sub-zero model needed instead?
Below −10 °C. This variant covers ambient and chilled operation down to −10 °C, which is enough for most fresh and chilled distribution. Frozen storage needs the FPSS1500B, which is rated to −25 °C on the same footprint and controls.
